My Philosophy

My name is Pierre-Alexandre Huguenin-Virchaux. I was born in Annemasse, France, in 1992. I am a French-Swiss photographer based in Geneva, Switzerland. My focus is on corporate, studio and lifestyle portraiture, as well as landscape and event photography. I have been passionate about photography since my teenage years.

When I first started taking photos, it became my favourite way of capturing the beauty of the landscapes I encountered while exploring the peaceful mountains of Switzerland and Haute-Savoie. I was so passionate about nature photography at that time that I captured all of Mother Nature's treasures. I took photos of rocks, flowers, trees and waterfalls and lakes without ever stopping!

Landscape photography has always been an integral part of my identity and has played a key role in shaping me as a photographer. It still plays a key role in the projects I share online. From landscape photography to portraiture

Over time, my passion for photography grew. I felt the need to broaden my horizons and challenge myself. I was convinced that capturing images of other facets of life would not only improve my understanding of photography, but also change my perspective on society. Like a painter's brushes, a camera is a fabulous tool that helps us to create meaningful relationships with our world and the people who inhabit it. The important thing is not how we represent reality, but how we use the camera to tell stories. That's why I started doing street photography.

As a naturally shy person, street photography was a huge challenge for me. I had to overcome my shyness to capture scenes of everyday urban life. The most challenging aspect of this was asking strangers to have their portrait taken. This was the most challenging aspect for me as I was afraid of rejection. But I don't regret this experience for a second! The more I photographed, the more confident I became. The life stories of passers-by that I collected during my street photography sessions fuelled my desire to take more and more photos.

Anyone can be "photogenic"

My experience on the streets made me realise that the relationship between photographer and subject is the most important thing in portraiture. I therefore decided to continue my journey and enter the world of portraiture.

Every individual becomes the centre of my attention. The relationship I develop with my clients is fundamental to a successful photo shoot. Whether you are shy, outgoing, terrified or excited about having your portrait taken, you are welcome. In my opinion, anyone can be 'photogenic' as long as there is an authentic bond of trust between subject and photographer. Together, hand in hand, we will ensure that you get the shots you need. A self-confident portrait will not only give you an excellent image, but also increase your chances of being noticed by a recruiter or casting director.
